Web Documents Typesetting with HTML Entities

Taiwan Photos

Few web document authors take advantage of SGML entities to enrich the typesetting capabilities of HTML/XHTML. Entities are HTML keywords of the form &xyz; that represent a character in the high-order bits of the Latin-1 (ISO 8859-1) character set, or of a superset thereof. They are most useful when typing documents in environments that only support the basic English character-set.
