The Euro Symbol in LaTeX

Several packages exist to enhance LaTeX with the \euro command and the relevant fonts. Among them are:

• the eurosans package
• the eurofont package
• the eurosym package

You obviously need to download and install one of these packages on your system. A generic package installation procedure is available from CTAN.

The Euro Symbol in HTML

All recent browsers (i.e. those supporting HTML 4) will provide the € SGML entity rendering as the euro symbol “€”. The HTML code below gives an example of using the euro symbol in your HTML code:

should display as:

Special offer! 2 books for only €9.99

Many other SGML entities are useful for general web document typesetting.
